Another (spiritual!) reason for an iPad

Joking apart, it was interesting to read how one pastor uses an iPad in his devotional life.

How an iPad improved my devotional life

It's not a cure-all for any lack of discipline you experience, but it might just inspire you if you've bought an iPad and want to try the apps suggested. I use Youversion for my Bible on the iPad and iPhone. I also use iPastor and Prayerjournal.

Hi Richard, Wiggy here. You asked to let you know how we got on with 'Hope in the Park' so here's a lowdown:

See the website: http://www.hopeinthepark.net/

We got together with about 7 other churches to put on 4 events (3 on sunday afternoons, the other part of teh local town's Gala). All our events were free. We put on a BBQ, music from the bandstand including classical, acoustic and rock groups, had kids crafts including face painting, circus skills workshop, bouncy castle, sports. We also had a chill otu area with rugs and cushions and a reflection tent housign static installations to focus on the hope that God brings.

We have had a great time, lots of people have come into the park and have enjoyed it, we have built a good impression for the local communit of our churches and it might spawn an annual event with perhaps an outdoor carol service in the park at christmas.

Many people from the churches have said how locals in the park mentioned it was amaing doing it all for free and that they felt comfortable being involved with church stuff in the park - how often do members of the public feel comfortable inside our churches???

If you want more detail please let me know - I have some photos if you would like them.
